I am Graeme, that's me on the left, the one with the silly beard 🤣 I run BSC Weddings LTD and I'm a Newcastle Candid Wedding Photographer.

I shot my first wedding way back in 2012. In 2019 I finally took he plunge and quit my day job to become a full-time wedding photographer. My timing wasn't great with the you know what in 2020, but looking back now, it's turned out to be the best decision I've ever made 💜

I have years of experience and bring a level of calmness and ability to get the photos under pressure, whilst keeping you conformable and relaxed. Most importantly I really really love what I do. My love for the job ensures that the shots are the best we can get and I'm always willing to go that extra mile to capture your big day, in a fun and creative way.

A little bit about my style

My style is heavily documentary, and my passion is capturing real authentic moments over staged/posed photography. That said, I do have an eye for stunning portraiture too and I am for all of my couples to go away with some amazing wow-factor photos to stun their guests with 😍

I am very aware that your big day should be a party, and not a 10 hour photo session 🤣 I keep things simple and fun. No cringey poses, no endless hours away from your guests, just real moments captured intuitively and artistically.

Over the years I've learned that my style isn't always for everyone, and that's okay :) If you're looking for a traditional wedding photographer then that is definitely not me and I'd recommend you keep searching 📸

I have a strict limit on the number of weddings I cover to ensure the quality of service is maintained 💜 Weddings are hard work and a lot of skill is required to deliver both great photos and great service. My prices are very fair, and my experience is priceless 🥺

I don't really do awards, as it kind of goes against my relaxed approach to wedding photography and quite frankly I prefer to concentrate on my work and customer service without any fuss. TBH, I'm usually too shy to even ask customers to leave me a review 🤣

That said, I do quite like this ranking on MyWed as it's voted for 100% by other wedding photographers 📸💜 Rated in the Top 3 Newcastle and somehow the top 30 in the UK!

Equipment info (the nerdy bit!)

I'm a camera nerd at heart and have spent a lot of time researching and investing in the best gear for the job. We use modern all digital equipment. As of 2023, we're now Fuji! Also fully in love with Classic Chrome which we use for about 90% of our colour photos.

We try to keep equipment to a small footprint on the day, so as not to get in the way of the proceedings and allow us to have a natural documentary style.

DJI Mini 4 Pro - (FYI for exterior shots only, not indoors for safety reasons). Used for group shots, subject to weather and venue restrictions).

Lenses

I generally use prime lenses exclusively for a more pleasing and creative aesthetic. This also allows us to photography darker ceremonies without using flash.

Flash photography and softboxes

I use flash very sparingly on your day, with 99% of the day will be captured using natural light. I am acutely aware that flash is distracting to you and your guests and will use it only when necessary. After all our style is documentary and the best photos tend to be the moments when people don't know they're being photoed.

For full-day bookings and evening parties we will set up 3 light stands with remotely operated triggers around the venue. Again this is used sparingly but allows us to work in even the darkest of venues with ease.

We use special techniques to give you the most dramatic and beautiful images using off-camera flash along with colour gels for that amazing studio photography style pop!

Examples of our off-camera flash techniques. If you are booking a full day package this allows us much more time to get creative and get some stunning portraits for you to treasure.
