Karen and John | 21st December 2024 | South Shields Town Hall and Hylton Castle

I had the honour of capturing Karen and John's wedding on their 40th anniversary! 40 years is amazing and I can't think of a better way to celebrate.

Such a glorious Winter day, with some cheeky North Sea winds to keep the confetti flying sideways 🤣

Such a perfect intimate wedding to finish my crazy 2024 season. I was far too giddy with excitement for this one and it felt very special, as I started my 2024 season in South Shields at Little Haven. It was just too perfect 💜

South Shields Town Hall is just such an iconic place at the best of times. I have to say, hats off to the staff there. They nailed the Christmas deco and the very warm welcome, they were just thee loveliest peeps ever 🙌 Everyone who walked into the place sounded a loud confirming... "WOW!' including myself! Just nothing short of awe-inspiring architecture, and i get to photo a wedding here? It was the stuff of dreams.

Karen and John picked the best venue and they weren't done just yet, a reception at Hylton Castle was truly the icing on the cake.

What a place, I must have driven past here on the motorway hundreds of times but I never knew this place existed. I will be telling everyone about it, what an amazing place, If I understand correctly, English Heritage look after the place and have recently given the place a wonderful restoration. Sunderland's best-kept secret? I reckon so! I did spend a fair bit of time after my duties were done just having a mooch around the grounds while the sun went down. It felt and looked magical, the staff were also amazing. What a place.

Thank you, Karen and John and your lovely guests. That was thee perfect end to my wedding season! I'm still smiling a week later 😍
